Chad
Austin
(George
Lucas)
It
was only natural that Chris Knight would approach
his life-long friend Chad Austin for the role
of George Lucas in Forcery. Not only
does Chad look the part (with a little
makeup and facial appliances 'course) but his
involvement also fulfills a promise. Chris once
told Chad that someday he was going to make a
movie, and that he was going to give Chad a starring
role. They were both ten years old when Chris
vowed that to Chad in 1984, and now it finally
gets to be upheld! A proud graduate of the University
of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree
in Journalism, Chad nonetheless has lately found
himself working in News Services at UNC's basketball
rival North
Carolina State! Before returning to his Tarheel
state roots Chad was a writer for Sports
Illustrated's website and prior to that he
worked in media relations at the University of
Georgia, Georgia Tech University and the United
States Naval Academy (the dude gets around!).
It's also interesting to note that in addition
to a career that he loves, Chad actively trains
for various marathons that he participates in
all over this part of the country (we'll no doubt
be seeing him run in New York and Boston sooner
or later). Chad is also presently a student at
Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, where
he is learning to ask the blessing at church potlucks,
eat fried chicken, and still ponder weighty religious
subjects as a possible future southern-styled
man of the cloth! Yup, Chad is one versatile guy,
and he admits that working on Forcery
has made him want to pursue a few cinematic ideas
of his own, so don't be surprised if you find
yourself watching one of HIS movies sometime or
another!
